Quickly draws rainwater below the road surface, improves drivability and visibility, and reduces noise levels
Overview
This drainage pavement consists of a permeable porous asphalt mixture used for the surface layer of roadways to quickly draw and discharge rainwater below the road surface. Color Pervious, a colorized version of Pervious, as well as SafePave, a thin-layer version of Pervious, are also available.
Features
- By quickly draining rainwater from road surfaces, splashing and spraying are prevented, skid resistance is ensured, and the safety of vehicles on the road during rainy weather is enhanced.
- By preventing diffused reflections on road surfaces that would otherwise be caused by any film of water still on the surface of the road, visibility is improved for drivers.
- The noise of tires in contact with the road whenever a vehicle is being driven is reduced.
Uses
- Highways on which vehicular safety is required
- Urban roads where traffic noise and splashing are problematic
