Video camera-based automatic control of laying height of asphalt pavement
Overview
In asphalt paving work performed on bridge deck slabs, this technology analyses reference height images captured by video cameras to automatically control the height at which pavement is laid and leveled by asphalt pavers.
Features
- The use of black adhesive tape to set up reference lines improves roughness of asphalt pavement since it is not as affected by bending caused by the movement of heavy equipment during paving work as string lines used in the past.
- Changing to black adhesive tape for the reference line shortens the time required to fabricate and tension set the string line installation jig that used to be used in the past, thereby shortening the process overall.
- By changing the location where the reference line is set from the top of the railings to the surface of the railing wall, workability is improved since the reference line does not interfere with the work that is being performed.
- Since the need to tension set string lines like before no longer applies, the risk that a string line will be severed is eliminated, thereby achieving a greater level of safety.
Uses
- Setting reference height for asphalt pavement on bridge deck slabs
